User-Friendliness Of The Platform

Once you're signed up, you can start browsing available studies immediately.
Each study is clearly described. Important details like the expected duration, compensation amount, and type of study is readily visible.
To apply for studies, you must answer screening questions. Depending on the test involved, the screener may be lengthy. On the other hand, it could also take just a minute.
Inside My Journey with User Interviews
There's no question you can make great money with User Interviews. This has been validated with over 85,000 participants being paid yearly.
However, my User Interviews experience was slightly frustrating. In all fairness, this may be a lack of patience on my end.
Let's start with the positive, though.
Sign Up Process
The actual sign-up process was a breeze. I had all my info filled out in under ten minutes. Here's a quick breakdown of the information you're required to submit:
- Contact information
- Date of birth
- Gender
- Race
- Household income
- Living situation
- Employment status
- Job title
- Specific details about your company
- Type of income you receive (1099, W2, etc)
- Social media profile links
- Internet browser used
- Computer operating system
- Smartphone operating system
- Tablet operating system
These details are important because they're used to match you up with relevant studies. For example, if you're a teacher, you may be matched up with studies specifically tailored for those in the education industry.
If you work in healthcare, you might be offered studies that align with your expertise. Not all studies necessarily correlate with your profession, though.
For instance, you may find one that requires you to have purchased exercise equipment in the last 12 months. In that case, your profession is irrelevant.
The Screening Process
I'm very familiar with screeners, as I've participated in a lot of focus groups over the years.
These include in-person and online groups.
As I sifted through screeners in the User Interview platform, I saw many familiar topics, including:
- Technology
- Movies and Entertainment
- Health & Wellness
- Groceries
- Bedding
- Vehicles
- Fashion
- Travel
- Food & Beverage
- Home Decor
- Personal Finance
- Education
- Environment
- Social Issues
Think of the screener as an initial set of questions. Your responses will determine whether you qualify for the paid study.
Waiting For Results
I completed 10 to 15 screeners on the User Interviews platform. However, I still haven't been contacted by any of the researchers. So, my guess is I haven't been selected to participate in a paid study yet.
That said, if you do get chosen, you can easily earn $100 for 45 minutes of your time.
So, the positive here is that there are a lot of screeners for available studies. Just know that some may take a few minutes or more to fill out. And there's no guarantee you'll be accepted into a paid study.
The more screeners you complete though, the higher your chance of being invited to participate.
Exploring Alternatives to User Interviews
There are a few more platforms that I truly feel are fantastic for earning a very nice income. Here are my two favorite sites for usability testing.
User Testing
I've made $6,206 through User Testing, all during my free time. Most of the studies on the platform are conducted right on your computer, tablet, or phone.
You need a webcam and a quiet environment to voice your opinions. By doing so, you help businesses to improve their websites and apps.
The screening process is usually very fast. When you do get accepted to a test, it pays $10 for less than ten minutes of your time.

Userlytics
Userlytics has a similar format for User Testing, and I've also earned great money through this platform.
Most tests require a webcam and microphone on your phone, tablet, or computer.
There are also actual interviews, which pay more. And these interviews last anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours and pay accordingly.
User Interviews Review: Is It Worth Your Time and Effort?
So, is User Interviews legit? Absolutely. There's incredible earning potential on the platform.
I hope this User Interviews review demonstrates the wide range of studies available and the exciting opportunities for you to influence the future of products and services. Your insights and experiences can directly contribute to companies' decision-making processes and service improvements.
It can certainly be a rewarding side hustle, and it doesn't require the commitment of a second full-time job. If you have the time to complete the screening process, User Interviews may be the perfect fit.
Usability testing goes beyond being just an income opportunity; it presents a unique chance to influence and shape the future of various industries.
