In addition to the Star-Lord group, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Two more superhero teams may be involved. By all indications, the Guardians of the Galaxy will have their hands full when they return to the big screen to film the second Phase 5 of the MCU. Played by Chuwudi Iwuji, the High Evolutionary is in a position to serve as the main villain Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Notorious for its history of using science”evolve“beasts and humans, the High Evolutionary is poised to be a force to be reckoned with in the film. As if one MCU powerhouse isn’t enough, the Guardians must also go through Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock, who is shown fighting Drax, Groot, and Nebula in the trailer. But luckily for the Guardians, there’s a possibility they’ll get some much-needed help by the end of the film.
GOTG 3 hints at the return of the original Guardians
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Marvel introduces its take on the original Guardians of the Galaxy team from classic comics. Instead of introducing them as a group of 30th-century superheroes, Marvel re-imagined them as a retired band of ravers. He puts the group back together in one of the post-credits scenes, thus setting the stage for them to fight as a team in a future MCU film. By the looks of things, Marvel may be set to follow up on that tease Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Neither character has been shown in either trailer, but both Michael Rosenbaum and Sylvester Stallone have been confirmed to return as Martinex and Stalker, respectively.
For now, details of their involvement in the story are under wraps, but their inclusion could be seen as a sign that Marvel is bringing back the original Guardians. It could very well be if Martinex and Stalker are joined by two or three of their comrades from the previous film. Since Michelle Yeoh has since been recast as another MCU character Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten RingsThe film may eschew Aletta Ogord, but additional appearances from Charlie-27, Mainframe, and Kruger are possible and could give the film a second, fully functioning superhero team.
The High Evolutionary Set Up The Knights of Wundagore

In the comic books, the High Evolutionary populated its headquarters with humanoid beings created with its advanced technology. Referred to as the New Men, these animal-like humans eventually formed their own superhero group. Calling themselves the Knights of the Wundagore, the team became dedicated to defending their home, Mount Wundagore, from the villains who threatened it.
The High Evolutionary’s confirmed role in Rocket’s origin story exists as proof that the MCU is using the New Men. Not only that, but Rocket is one of them, as is Lyla the Otter, Rocket’s love interest from the comics. His kind has been seen in other trailers where he appears to be based on the Counter-Earth of the MCU. Some of these characters may be film interpretations of some of the new men that joined the Knights in Marvel Comics, such as Tagger, Leopard, Wolf, Ocelot and more. But given that the MCU’s High Evolutionary is based in outer space, Knights of Wundagore would have a different name if used in the film.
Where Both Superhero Teams Could Fit Into GOTG 3’s Story
Given what’s been revealed about the challenge they’re facing, parents need every ally they can find. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In the comic books, the High Evolutionary is a character whose ambitions have made him an Avengers-level threat on several occasions. With 1988’s “The Evolutionary War” crossover being a prime example of his abilities, the Avengers need a massive team-up to take him down. With that in mind, it would make sense if a group of Star-Lords join forces with other teams to defeat him in the film’s climax.
To prevent him from achieving his goals, they may have to turn to the stalker for help. As for the New Men, they may be servants of the High Evolutionary at the beginning of the story, but they must already have good reasons for switching sides. If they all have the same tragic backstories as Rocket, they may finally be rallied to oppose their masters. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, At the end of the conflict, they can form a new version of the Knights of Wundagore and continue to defend Counter-Earth after the High Evolutionary’s defeat.
